Tom Ridge (Homeland Security top dog) admits Bush/Cheney used color-coded terror chart for political gain! ..and y'all called Mike Moore crazy!

More evidence Bush & Cheney lied to you about terror alerts ("gasp!") and the possibilities of getting attacked here at home, for NOTHING more than political gain! Yes, unfortunately, making up shit and falsifying intelligence (like they did for the wholly unnecessary Iraq war) on a seemingly daily basis, trumped serving American citizens for the good of the country. It's really a shame that 58 million of y'all voted for them. Some of y'all have come around and realized what terrible assholes Bush/Cheney are, others...not so much. Well, read this little summary here of Homeland Security Secretary, Tom Ridge's new book (and any links in the piece you feel like clicking on), and learn something new, perhaps. People always ask, "how; why would Bush/Cheney lie to us like this?" Well, one answer is this: "Because they're aware how effective it is; they know damn well how gullible & ignorant you are."

Tom Ridge: I Was Pressured To Raise Terror Alert To Help Bush Win

In a new book, former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge reveals new details on politicization under President Bush, reports US News & World Report's Paul Bedard. Among other things, Ridge admits that he was pressured to raise the terror alert to help Bush win re-election in 2004.

Ridge was never invited to sit in on National Security Council meetings; was "blindsided" by the FBI in morning Oval Office meetings because the agency withheld critical information from him; found his urgings to block Michael Brown from being named head of the emergency agency blamed for the Hurricane Katrina disaster ignored; and was pushed to raise the security alert on the eve of President Bush's re-election, something he saw as politically motivated and worth resigning over.

We Have No Standing to Complain About Election Fraud

Who are we to gripe about Iran's arguably rigged election? We most likely elected the wrong guy in 2000.

If the Supreme Court had not hastily short-circuited the Florida recount, we might know for sure whether another tally could have confirmed what we now know to be true -- that most of the state's voters really intended to elect Al Gore. Or we might have seen some meaningful scrutiny of suspiciously late-arriving military overseas ballots that actually delivered George W. Bush's last-minute margin of victory.

Under the circumstances we probably ought to leave the outrage about Iran's questionable balloting to nations with a better established record of putting the real winners in office.
